Brown Butter Brookies combine the best of both worlds: a dense, fudgy brownie layer swirled with a chewy brown-butter chocolate-chip cookie dough. By browning the butter first, the cookie portion becomes deeper, richer and intensely flavorful. These bars are perfect for parties, bake-offs or satisfying any dessert craving thanks to their gooey center and crisp edges.

Pro Tips (FAQ-style)
Can I make these ahead?
Yes — these brookies stay delicious for up to three days at room temperature and can be frozen for several months.
Can I skip browning the butter?
You can, but browning adds a deep caramel-nutty flavor that makes the cookie layer incredibly rich.
How do I get clean slices?
Allow the pan to cool fully, chill briefly, then cut with a sharp knife wiped clean between slices.
