Ingredients

  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1½ cups heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Optional: fresh parsley, red pepper flakes

Step-By-Step Instructions
➜ Cook the bowtie pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
➜ In a large skillet heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and smoked paprika.
➜ Add the chopped onion and continue cooking until softened. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
➜ Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream. Stir well, reduce heat and let the sauce simmer until slightly thickened.
➜ Add grated Parmesan and butter, stirring until melted and creamy. If the sauce becomes too thick, loosen with reserved pasta water.
➜ Toss the cooked bowtie pasta directly into the sauce, coating evenly.
➜ Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley or red pepper flakes if desired. Serve warm.
